Hour 3

I have to make a final decision on the finish, and to help me decide, I got out 2 of the other chairs that will make up part of this set. The Depression era T-back chair turns out to be Tiger Oak. And it has a natural reddish color. It makes the natural teak look ashen.

Hour 2

I've completed the first pass on two of the Danish chairs and am beginning to appreciate the grain. It seems to be teak.

Hour 1

Heat gun followed by a Zar wash.

One chair stripped.

Next: Zar touchup and light sanding. Paint with Kilz. (1 hour)

Then: 2-3 spray coats of glossy black/charcoal enamel. (1 hour)

Recover the seats. (1 hour)

Total time for 4 chairs is 16 hours.

Spend 1 hour per day and I'll get it finished!!!

Resuming work

Nearly 4 years have passed since I began this blog.

Several projects have neared completion, but few have met my standards.

This post states my renewed commitment to this project.

My mission:
    To fill my home with beautiful and comfortable furniture that I have rescued and refurbished.
